Hood struts
I received my package yesterday (thanks for the fast shipping), installed the two struts like the website pictures, but when I close the hood it does not sit flush with the side fenders like it does without the struts, the struts are causing the hood to bulge up, website says it won't happen but it did on my 2014 Nismo. Anyone have that problem?

There is a video about this on Youtube. This is why a lot of people do not get them from what I have heard. Try maybe adjusting or tweaking a tad. Try contacting the vendor for info or insight.

I am having the same problem as Krazy.1k described and additionally the rod end of the passenger side strut pops off the pivot ball stud when I close the hood. Seems the body of the cylinder is contacting the battery cover, forcing the rod end of the strut up off the pivot ball stud.
It doesn’t appear the hood moved any when I installed the hood brackets (yes, I did one side at a time) so are there any specific tweaks to fix this? It seems to me the pivot ball studs need to be longer so additional washers can be installed under the covers to allow the rod end of the struts sit up closer to the hood when closed and get some clearance between the body of the cylinders and the battery/brake covers. Thanks for any insight, Christian |
