I just ordered some aftermarket lug nuts and it doesn't look like they'll fit. Besides the thread pattern, nothing else about it resembles the factory nuts - different shape/ size.

I just ordered some aftermarket lug nuts and it doesn't look like they'll fit. Besides the thread pattern, nothing else about it resembles the factory nuts - different shape/ size. Look at the attached photo. The oem nut (left one) has a flat surface after the acorn surface. Most aftermarket lug nuts (right one) don't have this. I looked at my wheel and can see where this flat surface with the washer mates up to the wheel. Without that, the aftermarket one doesn't look like it grabs onto the flat part of the wheel. It just sinks into the center, but I'm afraid this will not hold the wheel the way it was designed to do...
Here's one from Summit that looks like it WILL fit: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rn...ELkPH4Nm_D_BwE But most of the other aftermarket ones, including the ones sold by vendors on this forum look more like the one in my photo... |
