Michelin Pilot Super Sports

If you want to go with cheaper tires, you can try Hancock V12s

You got pretty good mileage out of those OEM tires. I bought a set of Potenza S-04's to replace the stock RE050As. The new ones are quieter and perform well, as well as having better wet handling ratings and better wear ratings. I think that the Pilot Super Sports are at the top of the heap. I didn't get them because they're $1200/set compared to $800 set for the S04s. I don't know where the Hankooks V12s fall. I've heard good things and bad things about the Hankook tires (my son is a service tech for GM).

S04's are a good choice. they have great looking sidewalls too.

v12's are directional tires, no? not very modern design for our cars that run lots of negative camber. get something that is asymetric in design.

How far off the wear bars are you? Get a tread depth gauge. No one but you can tell how much life is left in the tires since it comes down to driving style. I'd guess you're about due for a set of rears at the very least. And pretty much any other tire is going to be quieter than the OEM ones.

Yeah and I think its clintforce that's races on them here. Used tire pics seem to show good heating and cooling. Granted its still no re-11 or rs3 etc.

All I know is I ran the V12's on my Z and they were a pretty good tire. Good for the money thats for sure. I like my Super Sports but I won't put those on a daily driver. I had a lot of miles on the V12s (20K), more than I got out of the stock tires and they were still in very good shape.

while im not a huge fan of the DW's appearance, they do feel very good on the Z especially if one's driving the car more like a grand touring sports car.

and they are considerably lighter in weight than most summer tires in this segment.

That's why I went with them. I knew the light weight meant less sidewall stiffness but touring and such it's perfect. 5lbs less in a tire is awesome since its the very outer weight.

yah, when i swapped between my nismo with advan sports and my weds with the DW, the weight difference was quite noticeable. (weds with dw lighter in weight).

i have some roads in my area with grooves in the asphalt made by tractor trailers. where other tires would tramline the Z quite a bit, the DW keeps the car very stable.

those are the two areas that make it worth while for me. but sidewall appearance can use some help for sure...
