I sold the OEM Potenza RE-050A from my brand-new 2014 here on this forum.
I bought a set of Potenza S-04s online from the Tire Rack to replace them because of their substantially better wear rating, better wet traction and lower tendency to hydroplane. My first pick would have been the Michelin Super Sports, but they were $1200 for the set. The S-04s were $800 and only slightly lower rated. IMHO, it was money well-spent. |

Yup either PSS or S-04. Flip a coin or go for looks/price.

PSS gets great reviews, no question. May well be the best tire available for these sports cars. But it was $1200 vs $800 for the S-04s. I don't track the car. My needs and driving habits just weren't going to justify that $400 price difference, even if there was anywhere near that in performance difference.

For that kind of power I'd go with RE11 potenzas. I got the S04's and they are great tires but it seems like the sidewalls are slightly softer than the re050s. When I make quick lane changes there is not an immediate response from the car like with the re050s. A slight delay from when I jerk the wheel to when the car actually moves. OTher than that the S04s are much quieter, better wet traction and decent traction even below 40F. No crunch crunch from cold weather in parking lots like the stock re050s. Price wise though I think its hard to beat what the s04s give you.
