Tire questions...
I have 2 specific questions regarding tires
1) I run Michelin PSS all around. They're apparently a uni-directional tire, (having an outside and an inside). Can they be flipped even temporarily? What should I expect? (I have serious camber wear and can't get new tires for a month) 2) can the toyo R888's be used with our Z's? I understand the tire's OD is larger than stock. Will I need speedometer adjustment? I'm looking to use r888's in 315/30/20 rear and 285/35/20 front (I want to switch to these tires after doing a widebody kit.) Thanks! Edit: for reference, I'm currently running 255/30/20's in the front and 305/25/20 on the rear. Last edited by DjSquall; 03-19-2014 at 10:51 AM. |

I don't think the PSS is directional, just asymmetrical (inside vs outside). You can switch side to side but the side marked "outside" needs to be on the outside.

Right now, the "inside" of my tire is down to belts, while the "outside" is brand new. Damn camber. Lol. |

And this won't cause any issues with ABS/VDC/auto tranny, right? |

I was close to buying the PSS as a tire upgrade, but just couldn't overlook the fact that four Potenza S04s were $800 compared to the $1200 that Tire Rack wanted for the PSS. I can't really judge grip on the S04s yet, bug they are definitely quieter than OEM.

regardless of what that chart says I hated the PSS, S-04 are just as good in my opinion overall, the PSS have a little better off the line grip but the positives stop there. It will be fine IMO.

You have to keep the front and rear tire heights pretty close to the same diameter for not to get any problems with the nanny controls.

Didn't like that crap when it was brewed in Latrobe, look at it now! However, there is a new brewery in Latrobe that is pretty darn good called Four Seasons. I am starting to see some correlation between PSS lovers and their suspension setups or lack there of, the few people I found that agree with me have a good bit of suspension work, and those that love them do not...I plan to do some spl stuff as well, and I will not be on PSS, still have them in the front, just waiting till they are wore out to get a new set of anything else.
