Next step? Wheels!
Sup people!
I've got a situation concerning wheel options I'd like to share with you all. I'd like some input/advice on what seems like the smarter move for both now and long term. I bought a base touring Z and right from the start I knew I wanted to convert it to a Touring Sport (nothing available or feasible at time of purchase). I have done everything I need to make it a T/S EXCEPT for the wheels. I've msg'd members and vendors getting quotes and ideas on wheel options and choices to see what's out there. Long term my Z will see boost (2-3yrs out) For now it will remain somewhat stock other than what's in my SIG and I have NO plans to lower my Z and my new job has me parking downtown in a garage that isn't low car friendly. My question is. Should I just pick up the OEM 19s, complete my conversion and sell my 18s to recoup loses or do I go aftermarket NOW and see what suits me and the Z for when boost comes?

Well if your goal is to convert to T/S than it is obviuos, get sport wheels. If it is not than aftermarket or OEM Nismo.

I'd probably say to go aftermarket now instead of going sport package wheels then aftermarket once you see something that catches your eye. Spend your money right the first time for sure.

Well I will say that once the OEM 18s would sell to offset cost of the 19s. THAT route will ultimately be cheaper than going aftermarket + new tires + TPMS + lug nuts. I've got a few options and they keep pulling at me lol
I've seen quite a few members roll with boost and the stock 19s for sometime on here. Just with better tires :P

You say that now, but eventually once the mod bug bites, you'll want aftermarket wheels.

All depends on what you realistically have in mind for a budget. You could very easily run a nce setup with the right wheels & tires and not even have to drop your car at all.
This is a good thread to reference: Aftermarket wheels with NO drop Lastly what are your goals; show, track, street, a mix? |

For wheels and tires? I'd like to spend NO more than $2.5k. That's the wheels, tires, lug nuts, mounting/balancing etc... I love authentic wheels like my TE37 I had but, 4k for wheels and another 1k for tires is not quite where I want to put my money anymore haha The Z is my DD for the time being. It will eventually become my weekend car and I do like to travel to shows and meets when I can.

You can always get used Volk Racing wheels for a good deal if you browse the classifieds section frequently enough.

As long as they aren't black wheels, I'll consider them lol
I hate black wheels and DO NOT understand the fad about having them. "Hey cool wheels bro" "Too bad I can't see WHAT THE F**K they are" haha

Gorgeous G, man. OEM Nismo wheels are a nice middle ground and they are always in demand.

I miss it sometimes I do like the concave on the Nismo wheels. With that demand comes a price tag too. A guy in north Alabama is selling his take-off set w/tires for $2.6k obo That's about all I've seen somewhat local to me.
