Default New Tires Installed

Replaced the OE tires 5 years old with Continental DWS. Night and day difference in ride noise.
Tires Plus installed them with really no outright damage, a little bit of scraping but only can see it when I rub my fingers across....oh well.

When I left I noticed going down the highway that it was pulling to the left a little, and it's NEVER done that before. So, I get home and get underneath it and lo and behold it looks as if someone has turned both nuts on the tie rod ends. I've had the car a year and never had an issue with alignment or pulling or had anything done to it. You know how you can see the shiny corner on the nut, and on the end there's rust disturbed...maybe I'm paranoid.

Oh, and I went all around the car and one tire was 40 PSI and the rest were 37...and one locking lug nut was only torqued to about 50 lbs. The rest were close enough to 80, maybe a wee bit over but nothing to complain about.

I love the tires but the snaggle toothed bunch that put them on made me very nervous.

Its crazy because Continentals seem in a way, exotic. Its the standard tire on many luxury performance cars. Great buy man enjoy them!

Yeah, I agree. Sidewall appearance isn't that great to me. I thought the OE tires had better sidewall presentation and a more prominent lip to protect the rims.
However, the DWS are SOOOO much quieter, I'm willing to accept the tradeoff.
I've just got to wait until the mold release is rubbed off the tires to make a more valid handling decision vs. the Potenzas that were OE. They're kind of slippery now, hehe.

yah, i run DWS on my dd. it's by far the bestest all season tires ive ever tried. and ive tried A LOT of different tires from garbage falkens, ice skate nittos to yoks to pirelli's to yoko's to bridgestone, michelin, etc.

i also agree that they dont look that great but the functionality definitely recoups all that.

My only question is how the hell did you manage to have the OE tires last 5 years??? You must barely ever drive your car

I'm ashamed to say I drive like a grandpa, and when I got the car it was 4yrs old with 10? thousand miles on it. Garage Queen. I'm blessed! The OE tires weren't that worn, but they were hard as a brick and noisy, very noisy.

I wish my tires lasted 5 years/set. I'd have much mode money for other mods. Q_Q

DWS are wonderful on a daily. So many good reviews on them.

I've enjoyed the Continentals in the past...you are right that they are quiet on most applications

I took pics when mine were being mounted. Local Tire Discounters (buncha young guys w cool rides) did a great job. Didn't mind (to my face) reassuring me during the process either did not want my wheels dinged.
