Default Need help with winter tire sizes.

So I have a 2014 Nissan 370z w/ Sport Package (19" wheels). I was looking at picking up some winter tires (much needed!) and figured it would probably be easier to just get some cheap Wheels too bc it's easier to just swap the wheels/tires than to have the tires changed every season. I know narrower tires are cheaper and better in the snow, so my question is how narrow should I go for front and back tires? Should I also get smaller diameter wheels, if so what size? Does anyone know of any websites with cheap wheel/tire packages for the 370z?

Tirerack.com

18" wheels. Most likely 8.5" wide.

Either 225/50/18 or 245/45/18 square.

You'll also want to get at least a 20mm if not a 25mm spacer for the rears to bring them back to flush with the fronts.

Can I go 225/50/18 on all four tires? Would I still need spacers if I went this route? Forgive the noobish questions, I'm still learning.

Yes, either do a square (all 4) 225/50/18 or 245/45/18 setup.

For both you will want the spacers.

I have 04-06 maxima wheels coming now, 18x8" +30, $250 and $100 shipped from California on eBay. Coulda spent less local but wasn't finding much. I'm also getting 225/45/18 in the Dunlop winter maxx (cheapest). I'm going to try to run the rear like that, don't care about the look. but since I'm losing 4mm of clearance from my hub out, I might need a 25mm spacer for the front instead of my 20mm. If that's the case I'll just throw the 20mm on the rear.

I run bridgestone blizzak LM-60 tires mounted on the cheapest 18's tirerack had. 245/45/18 square setup. No spacers. Spacers are just for aesthetics. Here's a link to a few pics: winter tires top was from last winter (without my FI exhaust ) bottom was from a few weeks ago. You can go to tirerack.com and select make and model, then press the winter tab and it will spit out a bunch of winter tires that work for the z.

Touché, let me rephrase. I don't have any for my winter rims and I have no problems with handling or anything like that

I'm just not a fan of a trapezoidal wheel base personally...

Spacers are not "required" by any means, but they damn sure make them look better.

Yea I might get spacers next winter, but for now I'll just deal with the skinny look. The LM-60's aren't too bad either with little pulls on the highway when theres no snow, but going full throttle is a no-no.
