Default What is the maximum tire width on 2013 stock Touring Z with the 19” Rays? (Sport Susp

I’m looking at replacing the stock Potenza 245’s up front and 275’s in back with the maximum tread width possible on stock Rays 19’s. I am planning on keeping the factory offset (no spacers). The tires I am going with are the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S models. I used the Michelins on my 350Z with great results. Can the stock 19’ Rays handle 305’s in the back and 275’s up front. (Has anybody tried it with the stock wheels? If so how’s the handling and the wheel-well clearance with the wider new tread width?

Thanks,
Ken

I think 255 Front and 285 Back will look better, but that's me.

If your car is not lower that much you should have enough clearance, but don't know with the size you are asking.

I think that Danegrey has the set up on his that you are planning...at least the 305 rears. Not positive about the front. And yes, on his sport rays.

OP, looking at tirerack, in 19in diameter, A/S+ only goes up to 275, A/S 3 goes up to 285.

Plenty of examples using 305 on 10in rim in this forum, but for the sake of knowledge, please do read and understand the below then decide based on your end goal.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...jsp?techid=199

Then an example spec of a 305/30/19 below, pay attention to the "rim width range" and "measuring rim width"

I have 255/285 on my 19x9.5/19x10.5 and they are stretched, especially the 255s. For strictly aesthetic purposes, I believe 265/285 or 275/295 would look the best on the OEM Rays.

Yes they are slightly stretched stock, especially the fronts on nismo.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=yes&tab=Specs

Look at the measuring rim width of the oem size vs the sport Rays width

It's subtle, but it's a stretch slightly. I think the word "stretched" has been associated so much with the uber flush rim lip hitting fender type of look, anything less doesn't look stretched anymore.

And a slight stretch isn't necessarily bad either. Even Porsche did it with gt3

The Nismo got wider rims than the stock 370z.

running 275/35/19 up front and 295/35/19 in back (hankook evo's) stock sport rays dropped on H&R springs. nice stance, no problems.
