Will 19x9.5 ET15 cause rock chips on doors?
First off, I am a new owner of a 370z, had a 350z for 3 years and did aftermarket wheels with decent offset to flush out the wheels. I notice on the 370z that the top of the fender is out further then the bottom of the fender and front bumper.
Im looking at getting a set of forgestar f14 19x9 deep concave with +15 on the front. I know this will flush it out on the top but my question is whether that much poke on the bottom will cause rock chips along the door/side panel. Anyone have any experience with this? Ive considered getting a clear bra just not sure if I would do the whole door or just cap the bottom. Any feedback would be appreciated. I could just be overly worried but since the car only has 7k miles and no dings at all I would love to keep it that way as long as possible. |

I have spacers to make everything flush. No problems on the doors, but the rear fenders have scratches, no chips

I have spacers here as well. I don't have any marks on my doors but the fender itself is prone to rock chips. I have two on the passenger side right at the bottom where the fender liner stops. Nothing a little Dr. Colorchip can't fix.

yah, even with the nismo wheels one can get kickup to chip the rockers and just forward of the rear quarter arch.
you can buy just the side clearbra or make your own. i just used a generic 3M 6" width roll of clearbra i got from amazon. |

I would go with the 3M rolls. Just make a template with some paper then trace and cut. I added some to the rear bumper fender area for the gas cap so it doesn't mark up the fender and bumper when filling up. I actually used some dark colored smoked/black film that I found on Ebay. Not sure if it was 3M actually, but its holding up and looks great.
