Flat tire

I just found out that I have a flat tire in my rear passenger side tire. Do you think this tire can be patched?? Sent from my SGH-I317M

I'd say plug it yourself but that is super close to the sidewall.

Too close to the shoulder. No shop will repair that or should repair that. You could plug it yourself but I'd get a new tire just for the peace of mind.

I'll take it a shop and see what they say. The tires still look new and have lots of tread left. I got this car about two months ago...

Just make sure to take it to someone you trust. Fortunately, most tire shops will err on the safe side (they want to sell all the new tires they can). It's awfully close to the sidewall, so be prepared to buy a new tire.

A lot depends on how you drive. If you putt-putt around town and never get out on the highway, it will probably be OK to plug/patch it. If you drive like you own a 370Z, I'd go ahead and replace it. It would be on my mind every time I got over 60 mph or took a corner hard.

I don't think it can be patched. It's too close to the wall of the tire. Best bet is to get a new one if not, see if a local mechanic can plug it.

The shop I went to refused to fix it. Part of the nail was budging out of the sidewall. I'm gonna get a new tire just in case. They told me I can get away with just replacing the flat tire. The tread left is 9. Is this safe?
