Default Buying wheels from Pep Boys??

Guys - I have a 2011 base coupe with the sport package. At Pep Boys the selections in the computer (and online) for the model are:

base
NISMO
touring
touring convert

I am getting 18 inch winter wheels - which model option do you think should be chosen to account for my sport brakes?? They told me if the wheels they order do not fit, they will get different ones no problem but I would like to avoid that.

Thanks - Dan

18 inch wheels will clear the Akebono brakes just fine, albeit barely. Considering you can get the touring package with no sport package, my best guess would be to use the NISMO selection - I had to do that at a Costco so they could order tires for me.

If you're just buying a cheapo set of winter wheels and tires you could easily get away with something from Pep Boys

I would try to find out what is available from their selection and then try to choose something that could fit your Sport Brakes by searching for that brand or model on the forum

You could also try to find a cheap set of used 350z wheels instead and just slap some winter tires on them for maybe cheaper than a new set of Pep Boys wheels

Thanks Waizzz - I chose Pep Boys because they seemed to have the best selection of cheaper wheels and tires. I just bought the car and I'm trying to keep the expenses down to pay it off quickly.

Why from pep boys? There's quite a few vendors here with good reputations that I'm sure can help

why not? winter wheels, never going to be tested or stressed, might as well get the cheapest possible.

OP, look on tirerack at winter wheel options for the nismo and see what 18 widths and offsets they recommend. you still may do cheaper with pep boys, but you never know.

Just make sure the offset will also clear the caliper which sticks out laterally a good bit.
