Go with 225 or narrower. Wider tires don't work well in the snow. I've driven with the RE050A's in 32F temps just fine. They take a few miles to warm

I've driven with the RE050A's in 32F temps just fine. They take a few miles to warm up, so no aggressive driving. Winter/snow tires usually go on just before the first snow fall and come off late feb/early march here in chicago.
