Fitment issue
Got new work wheels 19x9.5 +22 in the front, have 255/35/19 in pss’ for them.
But they barely touch the front caliper.... Sooo I bought 3mm spacers as I don’t want the wheel to stick out anymore than it has to from the fender... It spins freely now and doesn’t touch. But man is it close.. 1.5 mm space between the caliper and spokes ... should be okay right? Or should I switch out for 5mm spacers? Thanks for the help

my worry is that **** starts moving and heats up that 1.5mm clearance starts disapearing
and are you really tripping over a 3mm vs 5mm spacer as "poking out too much"? Folks are wild

I went with the 3 in the first place because I wanted minimum poke... now I’m just curious if it’s worth the hassle of returning and buying a different set.
But also yes, I’m anal over details and work as an engineer with caterpillar dealing with quality, so in my head 2 mm can be go or no go lol

If you're going to sell your wheels over 2mm of "poke", then the problem isn't the wheels, the brakes, or any part on the car.

Your fun is where you find it. As an "engineering type", I fully understand.
Personally, I'd worry about flex in the wheel when cornering. Keep the 3's, use the 5's, and add the 3's if you need to, later. Kirk B. |

Very similar to your situation, I had a set of wheels in the past that barely did not clear the front brake caliper (Akebono). After putting on a 3mm DRS style spacer, the wheel cleared the caliper by a hair. I did not have any issues.
Do remember to torque the lug nuts to spec (around 80 ft/lbs) after about a week of driving on new wheels.

I think I’m going to do the exchange just for piece of mind. It means getting extended studs etc, but I’ll just feel better in the end I think. It just bothers me that my te37s poke just a little more than I like already, and these have the same offset so I’m essentially adding more when I already want a little less. It’ll probably bug me for a week or two then I’ll get use to it.

Good decision. You will not see a 2 mm difference. Neither will anyone else.

The way this work wheel is and how the lugs sit, I disagree. Almost didn’t want to run 3mm without them.
