Winter Tire Set Up Suggestions?
I'm sure if I search through this site for hours I could find the information I'm looking for, but I'm just lazy. So, that being said, it would be greatly appreciated if a few people could suggest a Rim and Tire package for my 2012 370z.
I live on the shoreline of CT. We don't get a lot of snow, usually, but it is often wet and icy. I'm not the most mechanically inclined person, but I do realize I will need some 18inch rims to fit bliztecs on. The Rears need to be wider than the front I believe. https://drivingpress.com/best-tires-for-ford-f-150/ Thanks for any help I receive. Last edited by smj999smj; 11-13-2019 at 02:36 AM. |

Tirerack.com has you covered. Most of the kits are square. I use spacers on mine to get closer to the staggered appearance of stock. Like previously mentioned, it is also a good idea to buy a set of non sport, base model 18s. The tire rack route may be more expensive but it will take out some of the guesswork for you. Good luck.

I also went through tire rack for a square set up. I opted for higher end 18 wheels, 8 inches wide, and Michelin X-Ice tires. I went for the nicer wheels because I still wanted to look good, and it's kind of nice to have the all black wheels half the year; it gives the car a different personality. I'm also using spacers to preserve the look of the summer spacing.
I've been using the tires since 2012 with plenty of tread, so they've lasted a while. They're really good on snow, probably the best I've used, but they're also really good on cold dry and wet pavement, which is honestly when you're going to encounter most of the winter. Highly recommend a good set of snow tires, no matter what you do if you're going to drive in the winter.

I daily drove mine through the winter here in the Toronto area and the tires were ok as long as you drove gently. Accelerating over 50% throttle on a road with any moisture your traction control will turn on. Overall grip was ok, but I'm excited to have the weather warming up to have my summer tires back on haha.
From my post in another thread: Running 245/45/R18 Michelin X-Ice Xi3 in all 4 corners. 18x9" ET25, with 20mm spacers in the rear. Fills in the wheel wells pretty good, no rubbing that I am aware of. Last edited by mini_cal; 03-25-2019 at 04:55 PM. |
