Exactly what I expected. Worthy to note, he was using skinnier tires on the 18" setup as well, and still almost ran the same time. Furthermore, it was even easier.
AKA, I still want my 18" track wheel setup.

Very interesting. I have 17" Volks on my RSX-S because I wanted lighter tires and an "easier" ride (they were also like $500 cheaper than the 18's )

I got this video and think that its the contact patch and weight that will help on a stock car. As power and speed becomes a factor, you'd want a larger contact patch and why subaru owner go 255+ on all fours...
Im sure that you can find lighter 19" rims and even lighter wider width tires compared to those 18 that would get better times...I search weights of both rims and tires on TireRack and take that into consideration other than the customer and magazine reviews. |

I'm a bit skeptical about these results. The whole first half of the video is about how they questioned and were apprehensive about using 19" tires. Then the track portion is unblinded so the driver knows what he's running. He was destined to not like the 19"s even before he began.
I'd be more interested to see him just get in the car, run his best lap, and then find out what size he was driving on (or try to guess).
