Default Help!

Did an alignment on my 370z today and after it was done, I went on the freeway. While making a slight right on 65mph I lost control of the car twice. But luckily I caught it and went back to where I got it aligned at. He reset my electronic steering wheel and we both tested it. It went fine but still don't trust it and wont risk it. Does anyone know what could had happened?

"lost control" could mean anything, so . . . how the hell can we help you?

Is the car pulling to one side with a neutral position steering wheel?

Did something break?

Are your tires ****** up?

The Z doesn't have steer-by-wire (LOL)

Did the place selling you the tires, the same place that did your alignment? Just curious. Also, did you receive an alignment sheet that gives you the specs you're at? There are some very knowledgeable people on this forum and having such information may help.

If your problem is not tramlining, park the car until you get things fixed.

Lemme get this straight:

Pre-alignment, car is fine

Post-alignment, you drive at 65mph at a slight right and the car suddenly jerks to the left TWICE?

Then, you go back to the alignment place and the fix is . . . something in the electrics of the wheels?

I have no idea what the **** is going on

For your car to go in the opposite direction you are steering would require something being severely broken. the Z34 is not steer by wire - there's a mechanical linkage from steering wheel to steering rack.

Did you hear anything snap? Tire squeal? Did you feel any wierd vibrations in the steering wheel leading up to this?

I mean, from you're describing, there's only one conclusion:
Neither you nor your alignment shop know what the hell you are doing.

Solution:
Take your car to a real suspension shop (not big-o or firestone) for a full inspection and test drive

Do what that place says

Post a picture of your before & after alignment chart.
As depending on adjustments made; it can really make a difference in the steering.
As mentioned; though our Z’s do incorporate a steering angle sensor- It isn’t a drive by wire...(not yet) many new vehicles are going this direction.
Electric steering to drive by wire to drive itself!

If the tire shop did the alignment, I wouldn't trust them. A nation wide tire shop here purposely screwed my alignment up to wear my tires faster because I changed to a cheaper brand last minute(not on my Z). Like everyone else has said, take it to a reputable shop.

Didn't notice anything after my car jerked no tire squeals and nothing snapped. I pulled over to the shoulder to see what happened but it looked fine. The reason why i came to get an alignment was because I lowered my car and it is on fortune auto coilovers. so anyways I Went back to the shop and reseted my "steer by wire" and we took for a test drive on the free way and it seem to work properly. But still dont trust it. any recommendation on suspension shops in la? and yes I'm not really knowledgeable about these kind of stuff. And I really appreciate you guys that took your time to try and help me!

Unless you ran over something there's no reason for the car to go left suddenly without any steering input from you. Vehicle alignment and suspension do not work like that. I would lift up the car again and check the suspension install.

Also I would love to know what they "reset" to get you out of the door.

shop forgot to tighten the tie rods after the alignment?

loose suspension parts when you install the coilovers?

wheel lug nuts tight?
