Anyone running Nitto NT555 G2 ?
Hi,
Anyone running Nitto NT555 G2 here? I placed an order for Continental DW, but it's been back ordered, and the store is willing to price match this tire for the same price. (they say these nittos cost more) I did find some reviews on old NT555, but not this new G2 that came out last year. Anyone running these tires here, or any experience? |

Yep - Just got a set; the G2 is supposed to be much better than original 555. See photo here:
370z MEATY TIRE THREAD They look amazing. Haven't broken them in yet, but they seem pretty smooth and sticky so far. --ZOM

Not sure price wise, but I assume that DWs are more expensive tires and maybe a better tire for the sole reason that their category is higher on the hierarchy (Max performance vs. ultra high performance), unless they are on sale.
Just check other shops to know if they are the same price.

I'm going to be getting those Nittos. Everyone I talk to loves them including my neighbors who know a damn good bit about this stuff

So... i ended up taking the offer and got Nitto tires as i really didn't want to wait any longer.
I love them so far. I haven't had a chance to throw my car into the corners hard, but the tires grip well at least in a straight line from first gear. (which was always an issue with my skinny winter tires! ) Also i have no other tire experience to compare this tire against as i bought my car with winter tires. This is my first summer tire on this car. BUT, the bottom line is i have no complaints about this tire. (maybe yet) I will report back later. Last edited by jamtinge; 04-10-2017 at 04:37 PM. |

Review on tires.
So, i have been using these tires for almost two months now. Overall, I am happy with both Dry & Wet Grip. When i initially put these on, the temp was around 10'c, and I wanted more dry grip. It is now almost 20 ~ 30'c here in Toronto, Canada, i don't think i am missing out much. ( in comparison to PSS or Conti DW i wanted ) Summary 1. good dry & wet traction above 20'c 2. Feels good in straight line or around curve 3. Hope its got better dry traction at low temp. The wet traction is fine. By the low temp, i mean 10' ~ 20'c, not winter cold 4. Will not hesitate to buy a second set I will report back on how long these last later! Last edited by jamtinge; 06-18-2017 at 04:11 PM. |

Only thing i noticed with the G2's,is you can't rotate them side to side-unless you dismount/mount...i put 10k on a set of 245/45,275/40/18's & removed them because rear had 4/32" to front's 9/32" or more.
Overall good;got new wheel's & have the Invo's...quieter & i can rotate.

That's about the only thing about directional tires....i guess you could run them backwards for a bit...but i'll see if i can dig up some pic's.

10,398mi. L/F tire Notice how the treadblock is raised in the front,,,very little; but corrected on a tire that can be run the opposite direction. Pics are of L/F outer & inner and then tread vs. one of the rear's. Good tire & wasn't noisy-but when this wear gets worse over time-that's when you get some noise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
