Default Wheel Spacers - What to do.

So the Z I just bought came equipped with lowering springs and wheel spacers (the Z1 Motorsport ones). I had it shipped across the country, and didn't know this until it arrived. It had to have a safety inspection done because it was being brought in from another province, and one of the things you can't have is wheel spacers, so they were removed. No problem, I thought; I'll just put them back on afterwards.

Unfortunately, whoever removed them dinged up the edges, so they're not flat.

I was planning to just file them down so they're flat again, clean off the rust and use them like that. Any reason I shouldn't?

I personally would get new ones. You don't know how stressed the metal got around the holes where they hammered on them. I wouldn't feel safe for myself and anyone on the road next to me with those on my car.

Looks like the safety inspector damaged them on purpose upon removal.
