Default Too much rear tire??

Hey guys, before I start, I just want to say that I know how to use the search button and that my flame suit is on

My question is a 295 Michelin Pilot Sport enough for the rears? The question I ask is because I am in the market for new wheels and tire but I am not sure on what size width to get for the rear. Right now I am on worn stock potenza's and I always lose traction after 5k. So that naturally brought me to the conclusion that I need wider stickier rear tires. I am debating wether I should get a 295, 305 or 325 Michelin Pilot Super Sport in the rear. I know that they are a very sticky tire, but is running a 325 Super Sport in the back is overkill? I know if I go too wide in the rear it would slow me down because they will have too much grip. My goal is too improve rear grip enough to keep the car balanced. So is a 295 SS enough for me? I am planning on running auto-x maybe 4 times next year but a majority of my driving is street driving.

Depends on your wheel width but with the 19x10 rear sport wheels you can go as wide as 305s

285's all around is more than sufficient for a primarily street driven car.

^ That's what I thought. I know they run really wide also. I was planning on running a 295 on a 10.5 inch wide rim but a couple ppl told that I should go wider

I have 295 on the rear and it is plenty for street use.

A square setup is the way to go. Having the same size tires front and rear just make the car so much happier.

I am not that expert on tires but I have PSS with 295 width

These are 295/35ZR19 PSS on 10.5 inch wheels

As far as traction, I cannot comment on long term as I didn't drive much on them, but they are wonderful in track, I can go full throttle early exiting corners without issue, where my old (OEM size) Dunlops will just lose grip. Also, I pushed the car hard on a right corner (while I have half fuel tank) and I got the famous fuel starvation, I couldn't turn that hard on my previous set.

^Thanks everyone who chimmed in. I really do appreciate it. So do you know any offsets? I'm planning on getting a 18x10.5 with a offset of 22. Would that fit up front?
