Anybody running 911 spec tires?

Stumbled across a nice set of p zero corsas off a 997 for cheap and can't really justify shelling out over a g for new tires since they tend to get eaten stupid fast. Specs are 235/35/19 and 305/30/19. I'm currently on hankook v12s 255/40/19 and 285/35/19 mounted on bbs rsgt 19x8.5 19x10. Current at stock height but soon swift springs/koni yellows with spc rear arms are going on. I know with a shorter sidewalls make for a much stiffer ride and by tire calculations make the speedo a bit off but anything else to take into consideration? I'm not worried about the rear since many of you run this size but the rather narrow front is the bigger question.

Those tires might be slightly narrow for 8.5" rims but not horribly so. Maybe not ideal, but it's possible after suspension changes that you might need a little stretch to avoid rubbing. I'm no expert though.

I often see S-04 Pole Positions in 19s available for $800ish for a set

I'm totally with you on it but since suspension changes are coming soon I might need to think a bit different so planning ahead. And 3 bills for barely used rubber is so tempting.

911 spec Pirelli? my last 997 came with Mich PS2 "N" rated tires..Not many P guys use Pirellis.

I'm assuming he tried them then quickly switched back to oe Michelins. Not saying they are oe Porsche tires just the oe specs are the same.

Hold on, I wanna make 100% sure. This is not just P Zero, this is P Zero Corsa that we are talking about?

• If it's Corsa, they wear out pretty fast. How much tread left? You may end up spending more by attempting to save.
• The sidewall is a bit short @ 35. I suspect it will look a little too "thin" relative to the Z's side profile.
• Don't think this would throw VDC off as rears are rotating slower than fronts in this setup, but I don't remember 100%.

Yes used for only a half season. Not quite sure how deep the threads are but look pretty much brand new. Thanks for pointing out vdc not kicking in that's a good point. For the 911 front oe rim size is the same as mine at 19x8.5 so don't really think it will be too stretched.

235/40R19 is 671mm tall
305/35R19 is 696mm tall

An inch difference in diameter is probably going to throw VDC into a wobbly.

Your current tyre diameter is within 4mm btw.

If these are "Corsa", they are a full R-Spec tyre and will either wear stupid fast OR heat-cycle out quickly and go out to lunch and lose grip (R-Spec's are only good for 20 to 30 heat cycles and then the rubber loses it ability to grip regardless of the thread remaining)

Would a normal drive generate enough heat to make a heat cycle? I was under the impression a pedestrian drive would just be "wear" but not achieving a heat cycle. Just want to learn. I have no experience in Corsas or Cup tires or R comps in general

Op, Its been a while since i researched the vdc issue due to tire size, so it seems like my comment was incorrect.

All I can say is that the last time I got lazy and left my track wheels/R-Spec's on my DD after a track day for a week - intending the change the wheels the following weekend, when I came to use them next time they were gone. They had covered maybe 500km on the trip back home from the track and Mon-Fri commute

Since then, I have always made time to change the wheels at the track (I have a buddy who comes with me and drives my ute (Aussie half-ton truck) which carries the R-spec's, jack, tool chest, rattle-gun and compressor), which helps. We can do all 4 in <20 minutes, even if it is p1ssing down rain.
