Are there 17s out there that will clear the brakes?

I doubt it. What tires are you running? If stock bridgestone re050a, they get very loud in the 2nd half of the tread life. I switched to the pilot super sport. Jury still out as to how noisy they'll get when worn. For now they do seem slightly quieter than the old re050a's i had on (225/50/18 & 245/45/18 stock sizes).

With the money spent on doing this, you will not gain much. Better off buying a loud stereo or exhaust to overcome the noise. Plus 17's would look so tiny.

open shoulder all season tires have more road noise than a more closed shoulder tire.
also, tread block design & feathering will cause this,,,as does overall quality of the tire. the 17" wheel/tire combo will give you a softer ride-but not necessarily less road noise.

As others have said, tire material/tread/&c have more to do with noise than tire size.
If you keep the same circumference (traction control will complain if you change very much from stock), you will have a taller profile with the 17s, which will negatively affect steering performance - why get a Z if you're just gonna screw up the handling?

Seriously driving a sports car = some road noise expected. Maybe getting a second car will help
Not sure why it posted twice

Thanks for all the Info. For those who don't know me. I have had 5 Z's over the years from 1990 all new and all less road noise than the 2014 I have now. Thanks for your "Help"

The issue is not really the size of the wheels/tires but the tires themselves. I found the PSS's to be pretty quiet.

17''s will not clear the sport brakes, you will need atleast the 18'' base wheels. And the pss are very quiet tires like terribleone stated. Still probably one of the best tires around if you can afford the price, they are pricey

And hard to get.. I am going to have to switch to RE11s for my next set. I cannot get the PSS's in my sizes.
