Powdecoating stock rays
I've been in a dilemma over the past month on whether to fork over the money to get my rims powdercoated, or paint them myself. The only reason i'm against powder coating is I do not want them to crack after the powdercoating process. Would the rays hold up well to the powdercoating process? Also, how long should the powdercoat last?

I used to powdercoat for a living and can assure you not to worry about wheels cracking if you take it to a shop that knows what theyre doing. Wheels would only crack if they were extremely overbaked and I mean exceeding the 10 minute cure time by a lot, as well as overheating the part. It rarely happens. With that being said, I dont recommend spending 300-400$ for a 1/2 stage coat on stock wheels.. If you plan on keeping them in the long run then by all means, but I would just save the $$ and paint them if you have plans on changing them in the future.
Powdercoat can easily last 5+ years.

what he said. I'm also a professional powdercoater, though mostly retired from it myself. I have a set of 4 350Z Rays wheels that I have powdercoated twice and they have over 15000 hard use track miles on them.

Powder coating will hold up many times better than anything you can do yourself. If you want to change the color of your wheels, powder coating is the correct way to do it.

Yea I plan on keeping them for a while. I love the look of them just want them to be either satin black or pearl black. I got a quote from a legit powdercoater for 400 which includes mounting and balancing. They do everything in shop, and are highly recommended so they should know what they're doing.

I'm having my stock Rays powdercoated right now. I was having the same dilemma as you and decided to powdercoat. Only thing downfalls vs painting them yourself is you're without the wheels (and car) for about a week and cost. I plan on buying a nicer set of wheels later on down the road and powdercoat will hold up while I put money aside for new wheels. If I painted, I could see myself having to paint them again before getting new wheels.
