Default Do I Need A RE-Tune ??

Hey all first and foremost merry Christmas ! Hope everyone's doing well. My question is if I have already gotten An uprev tune and dyno... Do I need a retune? I have no added mods from last time (cbe hfc intake, intake manifold ) Im going back to my tuner Tomorrow to get my maf cleaned and doing a few dyno pulls but with no extra mods do I need a retune? Would my afr be off or any other components? I'm gonna have him check for leaks and stuff before hand so it doesn't run lean obviously

Since you have the same mods. I would say no. But if you're cleaning the MAF because there's some kind of problem. Then maybe

You don't need a retune. And I hope you're not paying someone to clean the mafs. There is not a faster, easier job to do on a car.

with both of 'em.

If nothing has changed, then the tune shouldn't need to be changed.

Cleaning the MAFs is just four screws/bolts (two for each MAF) and two connectors (if you slip the harnesses out some clips on the chassis you don't need to disconnect). Plus a can of MAF spray. No gaskets to be replaced. Cover the area with plastic and rags then spray away. Let dry and replace. Car will adjust itself after a few miles.

Seconded. This is something even my mother could do.

Totally understandable. Learning a new car and diving in to any maintainance can be intimidating.

There's no reason to react like that. We were trying to save you some money.

Possibly. But not because you are not mechanically inclined. Copping an attitude won't get you very far around here.

The trick is to not get in over your head. Start with the easy jobs - oil change, clean MAFs, &c - and work your way up. Always helps to have someone with experience help guide you through.
Or maybe you just don't like working on cars. Nothing wrong with that. I kept breaking interior panels so I pay someone else to do it now.

In general, no need to retune, but since you are dynoing anyway you might ask the tuner if he thinks there's anywhere to make improvements.

Tuners learn new tricks as they go; similarly, new software upgrades might open new tuning options -- for example, maybe your tuner couldn't tune VVEL last time you were there and now can. That might be worth experimenting with.

along the lines of the OP, should I get a re-tune from a different tuner? i hate that I paid so much for the SC and only make 345 whp. something just isnt right.. i really want to take it to a tuner down in Indianapolis and see if he cant get it more up in the 400's. i got it tuned by dynosty down in KY, a UpRev tuning shop, yet im not impressed with my numbers

Hal at Dynosty is a very well known tuner. senior if you will!

the dynodynamics is different from a dynojet. how you put your car on a dynojet just to see the difference.

do you recall what your car made before the SC?
