dyno nunbers and conditions
Hey guys so I got my z tuned and dynoed at jds motorsports by jas . H
Hes great and been tuning nissans for over 15 years. My question is I have every bolt on except headers and I only made 305.6 so I guess 306 whp ...Jas said it was because it was humid...it was 55 degrees out and pretty humid I would agree. But ive seen z's with only intake and exhaust not even hfc or test pipes just exhaust and stillen gen 3 and uprev make 318...thats in like 88 degree weather...is it the dyno? Or the gears? Mine was done in 4th would 5th have made a difference. |

the car will make a little more WHP in 5th but remember every dyno is different. If the car feels good dont worry about the WHP

Without knowing what a stock z puts down on that dyno or what yours made before mods and tune, the final numbers don't really tell you much.

On that dyno? What were your torque numbers?

You can't compare numbers on different dynos like that. They're not all consistent.

Yes weather can greatly affect engine performance. Factors such as temp, humidity and even barometric pressure will affect the power. And as has been said, each dyno is different. Even the way the car is tied down can make a difference. Don't get too wrapped in the number but concentrate more on the feel. The only number that matters is elapsed time. That is what dictates the power and performance. Besides, a car will not match a dyno number anywhere but on that dyno at that time.
