Default Uprev and knock reading?

Hi guys,

just wondering if the stock knock sensor reading is something you can rely on when tuning the car, of course amplified headset on the block will be more human friendly, but it would make life a bit easier if stock sensor reading is good enough to indicate the condition?

uprev recommends building the knock amp and using a headset to listen
