Default Up Rev and 2013 370's

Good day, Before I get flamed I did not find this thread anywhere here, if it has been asked then be gentle please. Anyways here goes the question, I have a mid 2012 370z and when I called UpRev they asked for the part number from the ecu, I contacted my dealer and the part number that was given to me does not exist in the UpRev library. Has anyone else experienced this problem or something similar. I did contact uprev and was told by their sales rep that they could not help me due to the part number being different. When I checked with the local dealer here, they explained to me that ecu's sent from the factory do not come programmed?. Hmmm doesnt sound right to me. Any help would be great or any other tuning software recommendations would be a plus.

normally when Uprev doesn't have the ROM in their file system, a Pro Tuner will have to dump the ECU Rom and send it to Uprev then they can do their magic, shortly after 1-2 weeks or faster (email) they will send you back that new Uprev ROM files....

I wonder if your dealership gave you the right number of what Uprev want/need and it might not be actually what is it...

since you have a fairly new 370z, its probably why Uprev doesn't have that Rom in their library, totally normal.

as far as not coming programed from the factory ? is your car running ? if yes then its programed, unless its brand new spare ECU you want then maybe , I don't know.
but if its new then they should program it if need be anyway!

sometimes the dealership are clueless when you ask a very specify question like this....

is there is Pro Tuner in Guam ?

I must correct myself on this...

There is a possibility to have the dump activated with any cable if you ask for it and have a good reason.... that's what happened with mine in the very beginning when I bought the Tuner package. They didn't had my 2009 version.

Anarchy first of all, take what you hear from the dealership here on Guam with a grain of salt. They are dumb as f**k. Make sure you know exactly what you want done and need when you go there. Their service reps except for one is actually good. The others don't know what the hell they talk about.

I'm confused your asking for 2013 Z's but state you have a mid 2012?

There is no Pro Tuner here on Guam nor any dynos. I have the UpRev tuner version. Been running it for close to 3 years now.

As Megan stated. I'm sure they just have you the wrong info at the dealership. They are f'ing retarted over there and anytime you go in for anything ensure you know everything that you need done, how it's done, and what needs to be done to get it completed.

Its fairly common for the dealership to give you the wrong ECU part #. I know uprev asks for it up front but I always have guys wait until they receive the cable and can plug in and verify it with the Uprev software.. only 100% surefire way.

Since your Z is newer it is entirely possible that your ECU isn't supported yet. In that case we'd have to dump the ECU (just downloads a bunch of info so they can add support) and send it in to Uprev.. takes about 2 weeks but they will write a custom patch and add support for it.

Feel free to PM me if you've got any questions about how it works

Hey sir,

I just went through this with my 13 z. Mr. JC671 is right about the dealership, I asked 3 of the parts guys at mine and they all told me the same (wrong) thing.
It's an easy fix though, uprev will send you your cable once you place your order. Plug that into your car and the Osiris software will show you your actual ecu pt# on the upper left.

Default Correct Number Located

Hafa-Adai All,

First let me thank all of you for your assistance, especially seymore4. I got my cable in less than a week (great for Guam), plugged it in and got a supported ecu number off the cable. I will be working with seymore4 on the tune. Will keep all posted. The only downside to this whole thing is two fold, the nissan guys did not know what I was asking for, and there is no dyno here to get actual numbers.

You do not need to contact your local dealer, you can contact any Nissan parts dealer in the USA to get the right serial#.

I highly recommend seymore4 , he etuned my car last Sep. 2013. Ask him to make a map from Wstar smooth throttle. You'll going to love it! =)
