Its fairly common for the dealership to give you the wrong ECU part #. I know uprev asks for it up front but I always have guys wait until they receive the cable and can plug in and verify it with the Uprev software.. only 100% surefire way.
Since your Z is newer it is entirely possible that your ECU isn't supported yet. In that case we'd have to dump the ECU (just downloads a bunch of info so they can add support) and send it in to Uprev.. takes about 2 weeks but they will write a custom patch and add support for it.
