TT dyno gain?

How much power did you boosted guys gain from a dyno tune compared to the initial tune?

Tuned with bolt-ons = 306hp*

Base map turbo = 460hp (+154hp)

Tuned on springs = 474hp (+14hp)

Tuned with boost controller = 522hp (+48hp)

*The first tune was on a different dyno from the turbo dyno runs

Edit- I just noticed you were asking about TT. This is a single turbo.

Turbo tuning is more for safety than extra power. Once the AFRs are straightened out then you can increase boost to increase power.

Also, are you referring to just bolting on a TT kit dyno run v a tuned TT dyno run or a NA Z tuned v a TT dyno tuned?
Also, tough question to answer because of boost levels and engine setups. Some people run more boost, others run more open exhausts because they can withe emissions, etc.

Here are a few good threads to read through:

You will usually pick up a decent amount of power over a base map just simply because you should be able to push additional ignition timing. So even at the same boost you can generally pick up ~20whp. The important thing for companies that are including tunes with their kits is reliability. What that means is that ignition timing will be dialed back from the jagged edge of detonation. These motors are relatively det prone as it is which is why its important to have a good knock free tune.

Either way no matter how good you feel like its running on the tune thats included with whatever kit you get, get it verified with atleast 3 power pulls on a dyno.

Thanks,
Alex Goodwin
