Z unresponsive?????
Yesterday the check engine light came on and the car lost ALL power. It would only go like 5mph and wouldn't rev over 1000rpm. Along with the CEL, the Slippery Road, VDC Off, and Air Bag lights came on. ...and, the Synchro Rev Match turned itself off. I turned the car off for a minute and back on....the 3 lights went away and i was able to drive...but they came back on a minute later and the car died again. After 2 more times doing this i was able to make it back home.
Fortunately i have an uprev cable and software and was able to pull and clear the code: P1239,Throttle Position Sensor Has anyone experienced this problem? Can't have the car losing power like this whenever it wants. |

I had a problem like that, but my car's oil ran dry and then it skipped timing...so she shut down. All the lights went on, then I could start it but it would die. Then the crank sensors disarmed themselves (safety mode) and wouldn't let me start the car again.
I am not sure if your is ECM issues, but I would at least go check your oil levels. Here comes a New Oil thread....I can feel it. |

That code is usually thrown if there is intermittent or inconsistent readings from the accelerator pedal assembly. The throttle position sensor is the part of the assembly that converts the pedal position to a voltage to send to the ECU. The ECU was clipping the voltages to prevent unintended acceleration.
If the car is still under warranty you will need to take it to the dealer to get the accelerator pedal assembly replaced and recalibrated.

Well that doesn't sound promising. As far as the oil, the level is good. Gonna go drive it and see if it comes back....taking my laptop along in case i need to clear the code

See if you can use the UpRev software to log the throttle position during your drive.

gah! didn't think of that, but even if i did that, i wouldn't know what to look for in the log. But just took 25min drive and didn't have issue. But it is a scary issue when it happens 'cause it's just like someone unplugs the engine and you coast...would suck if that happened driving down highway.
