ecutek kit..??

Is my understanding correct?? The OBDII plug-in, cable, and software key/dongle can be used on multiple laptops? But are these components vehicle specific or all the same? I know a

Is my understanding correct??
The OBDII plug-in, cable, and software key/dongle can be used on multiple laptops?

But are these components vehicle specific or all the same?

I know a license is required for each vehicle.

I have seen used kits for sale...which would be nice to save a bit, but not if they will not work.

Make sure you buy from a licensed Ecutek dealer to be certain. The cable is OBDII to USB and the kit should also include the Desi key (a separate USB dongle) which is needed to authorize the cable when using the software.

Full disclosure, I purchased a used kit and got everything needed. But I got it from a forum member here and not some scammer on fleabay or amazoinks. Your tuner provides the digital license.
