Uprev update
I got an updated tune and when i launched Osirus like normal to load it i got a software update which temoved my blue osiris icon that i notmally launch. So i launched the TOM editor and was forced to do a firmware update for the cable, no problem there.
I've always loaded tune from osirus but now that the last update removes it there is a quick flash option in the rom editor that i havent attempted as yet until maybe someone can shed some light? I also re-dowloaded the osirus installer from uprev.com just to make sure the osirus ilblue icon i normally used to load a rom didnt come back. It did not so that is apperently not how you load a tune anymore? Anybody know what's up? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk

I just received an email from Stillen documenting how to load a new rom. Didnt do it yet, but looks like it is via the Quick Flash button. However, their instructions say to first reload back to stock to get license back onto cable before doing a new flash (could render cable useless if one doesnt flash to stock first prior to getting new uprev license). Then send them license file so they can upgrade it to new license. Then enter ecu number on uprevs site to get correct tune. Then use the Quick Flash.
I will be trying it out in the next day or two Last edited by imazman; 03-28-2017 at 12:03 AM. |

Im also having an issue after the most recent Uprev update. After I did the update it seems the updated rom files don't work with my Z. My Z now doesnt recognize that the clutch pedal is being pressed and the gear selection indicator on the tach is blank, therefore it will not start or turnover. It tells me to press the clutch pedal. I logged the clutch pedal and the value doesn't change when I press the pedal. After a while I discovered that my ECU part number had changed (weird), so I downloaded the new rom file from Uprev and flashed it. Same issue. If I flash an old tune file before Uprev required you to use an "updated file" from Feb. the car will turn over and start.
Ive contacted Uprev and am trying to find a solution now. Hopefully it won't take long.

Weird, i flashed mine and it reported sucess but my shift firmness is identical so i dont think it actually flashed the updated ROM. Pretty annoying stuff. Plus it seems to flash incredibly fast compared to normal. Oh well, hard *** ahifts for my commuter it is!!!

Talking with Uprev has me frustrated... Im sure they get all sorts of dumb questions and concerns but any response I have gotten thus far is either its my cars fault or my tuner, which it isnt. If I start fresh and flash their rom that they give me, my car wont turn over. They said maybe my clutch switch went bad.... but if I reflash to stock, I can turn the car over and the ecu recognizes that the clutch pedal is being pressed. Im highly frustrated. Thankfully I dont have to rely on my Z for transportation otherwise Id be stuck.

If I hadnt just spent over a grand getting my Z tuned a little over a month ago I would get an EcuTek tune asap. Ill have to wait until later in the year before I drop the dollars for another tune.

I updated to the new Uprev tune. It went without a hitch and the tune seems much better than Stillen's original tune. My steps were:
- Uninstall old PC software - Download and install new Uprev software for PC - Download stock ROM from Uprev website - Flash car back to stock - Save license file and send to Stillen - Stillen sent me new license file (and new tune file but probably same tune file as one would download from Uprev website) - Install new license file - Flash new tune file First time I started it after reflash, the syncro was turned off so I turned it back on. My car no longer has the drop out at 3250 rpm on normal driving, the shifts seem faster, throttle response seems better, and WOT at low rpm seems pretty blah until around 4900 rpm and then the SC seems to wake up and pulls something awesome! I will try to get more drive time this weekend and hopefully a dyno in a few weeks. /Z/ Last edited by imazman; 03-30-2017 at 12:54 AM. |

Its crazy to think every uprev customer needs to do this to make a change. I thought after it forced me to do a firmware update on cable which was completed successfully should all be good but apparently not. Ive wasted 55 bucks for the updated tune. It pisses me off

Normally the numbers in the log should show something like 147-148 or so, but so with the pedal not being touched, it should show 147, then when you press it in, it should go up to 148. I would check that first. |
