Default UPREV Update

I dunno if you guys have heard, but UPREV just updated their stuff again.

For all the self-tuner fellas, they have finally figured out how to do the actual timing tables, and not burn time anymore.

Pretty excited to check it out.

The first news is that now in Ignition Timing now the values are in degrees (not in ms!)

Timing High Det
Timing Main
Timing Cold
Cranking Timing A
Cranking Timing B
Cranking Timing C
Ignition Correction Alt
Ignition Correction Main
Knock Threshold

But.... there is only one map!

5 Timing maps are on ARC section -> Simplified Timing

Knock Correction
Oil Temperature Correction
Coolant Temperature Correction
Intake Air Temperature Correction
MAP1
--Timing Table
MAP2
--Timing Table
MAP3
--Timing Table
MAP4
--Timing Table
MAP5
--Timing Table

The upgrade is a one way. Now my cable has been firmware upgraded and does not work with old UpRev RomEditors....

DTC codes still disabled.....

Now I expect a good help manual or videos to explain the new working method and every feature....

Does the new version of UpRev give access to VVTL? Can it run speed density yet? Those two things were what made eCUtek so much better to me. But I can't run ECUtek in an 08 G37.

Also since you have experience with it, is it necessary to update the cable firmware to run the new software? OR can you get away with not updating the cable but just getting the software? Because if so, I'd want to just do a fresh download and call it something different, like UpRev New or something like that, so it doesn't overwrite my old software. That way I can still revert to the old software/tunes if I don't like the new version. Would this be possible?

Interested to see if this makes any noticeable difference in tuning for naturally aspirated/bolt on Z's. I'm going in for a retune and addition of launch control/flat foot shifting later this month so I'll chime in then. Anyone have any experience yet? I know it's early still... made 336/272 on the dyno last time. We'll see if that improves at all.

I am interested too, when I will succeed to convert the maps of the old ROM to the new one...

Look the topic: WARNING with new UpRev update, you loose your tune!

Yeah, but it's not worth it to me to get a whole other ECU and get it flashed at a dealer just to get it running on the other software. UpRev is working fine for me at the moment. If I was starting from scratch, I would do all that.

Using the stock ecu. Tuned on ecutek. For now some of the race features aren't supported yet like flat foot shifting but can be tuned with the features you mentioned earlier.

BP kit 620/497 14 lbs pump gas 93.

Really??? Did they ever come out with the user-tunable version? If so, I'd make the switch. I'm Stillen supercharged, and could really use the speed density capabilities.

Only a master tuner can tune it. No user tunable version.... yet.
