Tunning Aveage Gains? ECUTEK/UPREVE
For those that had their Z's tuned with UPREV or ECUTEK, can anyone elaborate on how much HP they gained? I currently have Stillen Intakes and Catback and was wondering how much HP one could gain with ECUTEK or UPREV. Would like to know if it will be worth for me at this point.

10-15hp, real gains come from boost. But the tune unlocks the cars friskiness.

271whp w/K&N drop-in's
290whp w/cai,tp's & cbe (no-tune) 309whp tuned w/up'rev (13:1afr) 7a/t pull's in 4th gear (1.41:1) 1:1 ratio would yield higher #'s

I had K&N Typhoon, lightweight flywheel and Borla exhaust. First pull was 290, after Uprev I'm at 312. Throttle response is hugely better. Midrange torque is a lot better too.

i was tuned with uprev. made 326/265. then swapped over to ecutec. made 329/265. i couldnt tell the difference in power, but the driveability was night and day. with ecutec it seemed like a completely different car. Nik over at SOHO really woke it up.IMOA ecutec wins hands down.

depends what your asking max HP gain as in max vs max or max as in max difference throughout rpm.
the tune wont give some huge max gain number but it will have gains sooner and more torque sooner both things are what you will really feel right away. my sheet as example |

A lot of factors in play: Mods, fuel octane, tuner, and time — in terms of development with understanding the engine and software.
My tuner supposedly netted ~20whp with a setup very similar to mine (Nismo CBE, tubes and filters). Unless he took up a new practice where he found he needs to play it safer, best ~$900 I ever spent, to go with the improved response. |

Thanks for all the great everyone. I believe the closest place for me is AAM which I've heard good things. If I go that route, I would like to feel a difference and feel like it was money well spent.

Just made an appointment with Logan at Dynosty in Louisville, KY. I am going with EcuTek and I can't wait for May to get here...
