Do I need a retune?
I have AAM TT setup with ecutek tune.
Just got a great deal on id1000 injectors and Walbro 485 pump. This is the start of making my car E85. I know to run E85 I will need a retune but till than, can I install the part and somehow modify my tune to work with the change? I am not looking to get more power for now but want to be able to drive the car and push it. I do have the software and cable for the ecutek. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Be ready to burn about 50% more e-85 than gasoline....so re-tune is a must!

Do I need a retune?
For the E85 I know but my question is if I replace the pump and injectors do I need a full retune or can I change the map I have for 93 by modifying some parameters and keep running 93 for now.

I'm pretty sure a map setting will work/sit tight as a pro will chime in soon,,,a bit over my head.

Yes, you need to re-tune to account for the larger injectors and E85. You could just change the injector scaling to limp it to the tuner, but before you put your foot in it re-tune the car.

if you install the ID1000s without adjusting the fueling tables in the ECU the car will not even start and IF for some reason it does i would hate to see how lean it could potentially be running. your FPR is going to be set for whatever you have in it currently(assuming 600s) and on top of that installing the 485 could have an effect on your static fuel pressure as it is a much higher volume pump. i dont know if you have a full fuel system or not either, but its usually good measure to up-size the fuel feed lines when moving into a 485 to make use of the volume of fuel it can move otherwise you're just as well off with a 320. honestly, when i was tuned for my 2150's i trailered my Z to AAM on the 1100s then pulled the intake manifold and swapped them over in the parking lot, and had Mike hook to computer up from there to change the fuel tables to get the car to start on the 2150s. From that point and a once over on the lift we were ready to start tuning. Anyway, good luck! dont let hear say about ethanol scare you away; the reliability far outweighs pump gas. besides, its all about the smiles per mile anyway, right!? XD
