Bolt ons and no tune?
Is it safe to install bolt ons (test pipes, y pipe, mid pipe, and exhasut) and drive casually (under 3k rpms)? Will the CEL come on because of the differenice in AFR? I don't have any aftermarket CA I yet, but I plan on getting them some time down the line. I am thinking of installing the parts listed above and am waiting a week or two until I get an ecutek tune.

I bolted on FI TP's & Exhaust & a Z1 CAI,drove for over 500mi. before tune & CEL never came on (note*Z1 doesn't move the MAFS & FI TP's has a good design for rear O2's)
Dyno before the tune was +20rwhp & +40rwhp after @Z1

I've had my Berk HFC and CBE installed for at least 2 years without any tune and no CEL either. Last year I installed a CAI (R2C) and still have not seen any CEL. The car runs great, gets good mileage and is a joy to drive.
I am planning on getting a tune in a few weeks, so we'll see if it makes a difference...

The rule of thumb seems to be: If you make only exhaust mods, a retune is not needed (the ECM will compensate). If you make only intake mods, a retune is not needed. If you change the exhaust and intake, you probably need a tune (outside the range of what ECM can adjust for). But that's just a rule of thumb - mults did both without tuning and doesn't seem to be having any problems.
It would still be a good idea to not go WOT until you've done a few less-than-full-power runs while monitoring knock, vibration, AFR, &c. Feces occurs.

I have HFC's, 3" cat-back, and stillen gen 3s. Car runs 13.1 AFR at wide open throttle.

Rule of thumb usually you would need a tune after installing 3 parts ( For example, Catback, Intakes, and Test Pipes.
I'm currently running Stillen Gen 3's, MotorDyne Art Pipes, and FI Catback and will getting a tune after I install my manifold. But you'll be just fine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
