EcuTek RaceRom- Who is interested in end-user software for self-tuning?
Recently EcuTek released a pretty impressive software update for the 370Z platform. On more than one occasion it's been mentioned that some of you were interested in EcuTek but only if you could self-tune.
18 months ago EcuTek for the first time released end-user software for the BRZ platform, and now just last week they have done the very same thing for the MX-5 platform. I know EcuTek has talked about end-user software for 370z but I'm not sure if they really know how many people are interested. To be 100% clear, I'm just a tuner trying to gather some information to present to EcuTek to help move get things forward. After EcuTek releases End-User software this is how it normally works - You need a EcuTek Programming Kit ($350) You need a EcuTek Programming License ($300) If your car has already been tuned with EcuTek then you already have a License, if you don't own a programming kit you'll need to purchase one. EcuTek DOES NOT SELL TO THE END-USER - Only Master Tuners can sell you these items. You'll be able to flash over your existing tune, not edit it. The only way you can edit your ProTuned Map is if your tuner sends you a unlocked map - Just like UpRev. Again to be clear - everyone with a Programming Kit will be able to create new tunes but you won't have access to all of EcuTek's "RaceRom" features. Here is a list of what EcuTek would most likely charge extra for - 4-Way Map Switching Speed Density RaceRom Controller - For Traction control and boost control etc Custom Maps -Flex fuel -Special NOS tuning -ECU Based Boost Control -Per Gear Timing -Traction Control To unlock these "RaceRom" features you'll need to order a "RaceRom Upgrade" EcuTek DOES NOT SELL TO THE END-USER - Only Master Tuners can sell you these items. This gives your Programming Kit access to more premium features that I just listed. RaceRom Upgrade Retails for $399 This is how EcuTek describes it for MX-5 & BRZ- BRZ RaceRom Upgrade MX-5 RaceRom Upgrade

You should poll on VQ nation too. I linked this on the 370z Facebook page to get some more votes in.
