Default Shift Knob Height

I have started to notice that a lot of track cars I see mostly Z's at that have tall shift knobs in road race cars. What's this about? I can see that it must be obvious for not missing it when you reach for it. Other than that any info in this?

Wink

It's what you feel comfortable with. With a shift knob up higher and closer to the steering wheel. You'll spend less time moving your hand from the steering wheel to the shifter and back.

And it should take less effort to shift into gear because you have more leverage. And it should exaggerate the location of each great making it harder to miss each gear
