Well Folks, it is that time of year again ... BATHURST 1000
For your delight .... some clips from the Bathurst 1000 of prior years ...
Glenn Seton on slicks in the wet in 1984 .. here: Greg Murphy's "lap of the gods" and Craig Lowndes quailifying lap that is even quicker ... Qualifying is now complete, Whincup on provisional pole at 2m08.0054s for Top-10 shootout tomorrow. First Nissan in P17, 0.9266 seconds off pole in a 2m08s lap). Nissans are still down 40hp as a conseqeunce of production-based nature of the VK56 cylinder heads in their race engines. Sunday promises to be wet which may yet provide an equaliser. Two cars badly damaged out of practise .. #17 Ford of Chas Mostert and #47 E63 AMG both requiring substantial re-builds - the Merc is "stuffed" from firewall forward and will require modifications to the cage behind the firewall to get it straight - a massive effort to repair it. The #17 Ford also suffered major damage (check out the pictures here) ... Heavy crash for Mostert in Practice 5 - Speedcafe Race start at 10:30am on Sunday (Sydney time). I just read a bunch of articles about this on our internal Nissan website tonight regarding the event. It is a huge deal for Nissan Australia and Japan from the looks of it.
Wish the US had coverage of it....

V8 Supercars - The Official Website and here radiolemans.com And if I'm not mistaken the a few Nissan Altimas should be running I see Volvo on these two. Does anyone know the story about what that's about? Last edited by Apollo8642; 10-11-2013 at 12:18 PM. |

Correct...some of the Holdens and Fords rock CUMMINS decals. I assume between the transporters and generators this is where this comes from.
