370/350z's at Solo Nationals
Good showing. Daniel McCelvey won CS in a 370z over Ryan Buetzer in a solstice. Ryan has dominated the class the past few years. I got a chance to watch the action and Daniel put on a heck of a performance to bump him from the top step. Learic repeated in CSL in a 370z. Brian Peters beat out a huge, loaded field to win STR in a 350z. Sadly, this car has been re-classed into STU for next season onward. I didn't drive too well on day one, but ran ok on day two to salvage a 2nd in BSP. That said, I had nothing for the s2000 that won BSP. The 370z also fared pretty well in RTR as well.
Overall, a good showing for the modern Z cars at the 2013 Solo Nats. |

Good showing for sure. I'm still waiting to see a 370Z start beating the boost buggies in ASP though.

We can run in CS? Why did I think we were AS or BS?
(I haven't been to an autocross since I got my Z, damn working weekends!)

Non Nismo's run C-stock and Nismo's run B-stock. Once we get to street prepared though we're all together in ASP (Nismo's and Non-Nismo's).

Just got back. This was my first nationals and it was quite an experience.
Seeing a 370Z win CS was great. I hope they let the 350 into STU next year on some fat tires. |

I know talking to a few of my region's national level guys it f*ing huge. I was told by one of them that you MUST have at least a pedal bike to get around the site out there. Hopefully I see for myself in a few years after I get some more experience.

The site is over 7000' long from the actual courses to the practice course. The 150 bucks it costs for a golf cart is a steal IMO. It provides motorized transport AND SHADE! You'll want to bring a comfy, older pair of sneakers for the course walks. They'll be caked up with OPR after you walk the courses and you'll be pulling up the carpet in your car and hotel if you don't change them.

Thanks for the heads-up.
Co-driving in STF. Because Race Car. When my wife asked what it was like, I told her it was "like a local event.... with a lot more drivers that are a lot more faster...er." Last edited by Z1NONLY; 09-08-2013 at 11:30 PM. |
