Take your time run it with the stock set up and be safe. Get your self a good helmet.
drop the tire pressure to 25 to 27 lbs. mine and auto and i launch at 1700 to 3200 rpm. you should pull the brake fuse if your going to do burn outs. the first few runs your times will be high. it takes a lot of practice to get a good time, if you run 13.2 to 13.3 you did well. but there could be a few 13.7's in there. let the car cool down as high oil temps kill the time's and if you spin and start going sideways , lift and just cruise down the 1/4 mile.
