Badly bruised tyre - now junk

Had a massive lockup in the race car 2 weeks ago, with the throttle stuck wide open on approach to a 6the gear corner that needs a hard brake and

Default Badly bruised tyre - now junk

Had a massive lockup in the race car 2 weeks ago, with the throttle stuck wide open on approach to a 6the gear corner that needs a hard brake and down one gear .......

Can't blow the picture up to take a better look at it. But it looks like you flat spotted it.

Just put the flat spot on top and you will be ok.

Just recap the tire and have another go at it... what could go wrong???

Yep, flat spot about the size of a beer can - maybe 2 inches across ......... and every time I braked after that I could feel it pinch the tyre again.

It was LH front on a left hand circuit (only a couple of RH turns - mostly LH turns hence "left hand circuit") so at least I was spared understeer.

Just tore up 5 x $100 bills - tyre had only done 6 heat cycles and was less that 50% worn ......

Don't you just hate that when it happenings.
On the bright side. You don't blow it out and cause more damage.
