Track Night at NCM - May 19
I ended up going to the SCCA Track Night at NCM this week. It was my first time on a track and such a blast. Got about 60 min of track time (plus 30 min of paced laps). I liked the track a lot (even though we ran the shorter configuration). The event was pretty well set up and things ran smoothly. I highly recommend going to the next one.
At the end of the video I slowed down -- this is because my clutch fluid was apparently boiling and the pedal went to the floor. I drove several more laps in 4th gear slowly to cool the car down. By the time I got into the pit, it had come back enough to shift. Was not a CSC issue. I plan to bleed it with modul and wrap it with a thermal sleeve. Here are a few laps from my session 3 run: https://www.youtube.com/user/rotarypower86/videos Last edited by zpower86; 05-22-2015 at 10:42 AM. |

Good video. I was just there last weekend (5/16-5/17) doing an HPDE with the BMWCC. It is a great track......but was ridiculously rainy on Saturday. Too bad they didn't let you run the full long course. You missed some of the better/challenging turns.
This was my second time at the track. It is very challenging and I would recommend it to anyone that is within a reasonable driving distance to visit it. We need more Nissan representation!! It is not a good spectator track (yet).....so leave the loved ones at home. They are in the process of building grandstands which may make it more interesting for those not driving.

I posted this in the One Lap thread, but thought it would be nice here too...This was a couple weeks ago for the One Lap of America. You will notice the shaking under braking and every once in awhile the car darts right under braking. Rotors replaced after this run!! But some pretty solid laps.

I was just generally posting but I wouldn't mind critiques. I know there were several turns after the first lap where I was pushing too hard causing me to miss or take the wrong apex. This is partly because I was exploring the limits -- also my brakes were starting to show signs of fading. Nothing extreme, they just weren't at 100% like if I had racing pads on. (Stoptech street performance). My fluid was good though, modul...wasn't squishy at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
