Default Very lucky dealership experience for me

So the other day I called my service rep. at Mossy Nissan to make an appointment to get my rotors resurfaced, a transmission fluid change, oil change, and brake pads change. While on the phone, he asked me if I had any issues with my car because there was a recall on the 09 models (steering lock). I never had one single issue with it when he mentioned it to me that day, but he suggested I bring it in and get the part replaced since it was covered under factory warranty. Yesterday, I pulled up to the Nissan service area and turn off my car. I talked to the service guy for less than a minute then he tells me to pull my car forward. I get in and my car would not start at all. Tried at least a dozen times and nothing. Turns out the steering lock recall happened exactly as I was at the dealer. It could not have been any more perfect timing. I am very lucky to say the least. Thanks to my service rep. for taking initiative and ordering the part, he saved me a lot of trouble. After my maintenance work was complete I can say I am very happy I got my transmission fluid changed (oem fluid). Feels like butter shifting and the transmission is a lot quieter and smoother. Just wanted to share my great experience with Mossy Nissan!

Im a Honda advisor, a lady pulled in the drive, we test all the batteries, the battery showed bad. Then the car wouldnt start, we seriously have the best prices on a battery in our area at 99.95 install, she would not buy it because my tester did something to her battery...I digress, but I imagine that advisor has been there awhile, most asvisors dont give a rats butt about recalls unless the customer brings it up. We have our appt coordinator check every car on the schedule for campaigns for the next day, if you have a recall and your coming to my dealer, its getting done. Glad to see they saved you a lot of aggrevation!

Most dealers at least Honda anyway have the latest and greatest equipment, we are getting a brand new pro-cut on car lathe going into service next week, this thing is awesome, but some people do not appreciate that, they want you to cut them for 20 bucks and it be ok, its a 15k machine...and it works, well.

Apoc370z: I'm not sure but this is the only Nissan dealership I ever go to and they gave me a quote and did the service for me.

Joepro: You are right! It is very hard to find a person that actually cares about the customers. I have built a relationship with this guy since I first serviced my car there and he always takes good care of me.

Also a little help for anybody who ever has a steering lock issue and your car wont start. Keep a hammer in ur car handy!!! The technician came by to look at my vehicle and he said all it takes is a couple of hits on the part behind the steering wheel (where your knees are when you drive) and it usually works! With about 3-4 hits he started my car and it worked!

good to see the dealer take care of you well, remember the dealer service gets paid on warranty or recalled parts from manufatures so they would be stupid enough not to ask the customer.
on the other hand i never deal with tom peacock nissan, service, parts and sales, they are bunch of idiots!

yes but warranty jobs pay $#%, when its busy, you just want to crank out the customer pay hours, when it slow, that's when dealers start doing recalls and warranty jobs, we do not have a choice as I said, our management sees the value in doing them for the customer, and the dealership. they recently cut almost all our common warranty and recall jobs by 2-3 tenths across the board, that does not motivate anyone in a dealer service dept, that I can tell you.

Glad you had a nice experience with Mossy. From my personal experience and what I hear from others Mossy is more of a for every 1 good experience there is probably 10 bad experiences.
