Does anyone travel from Miami to Orlando?
Slightly off topic but I am flying over to Miami from the UK next week then driving up to Orlando, I have been told I need a sunpass to get through the tolls on the motorway, can anyone tell me if they are all cashless now or can I pay as I go through? If not where can I buy a Sunpass from (only going one way as flying back to the UK from Orlando a couple of weeks later).
Route wise I was going to go up the I95 onto 41 into Kissimmee? Thanks |

there are toll booths where you can pay cash, but if you go straight up I-95 to US192, it will take you into Kissimmee no tolls. However, it is not a big highway, there will be traffic lights and such. If you really want to buy a Sunpass, they sell them at Publix grocery stores, but they can take up to 12 hours to be activated.

Great thanks guys, reason for asking was I 'heard' that it was sunpass only and no cash at the tolls....
I was going to get the vouchers from the rental (Sixt) but heard that they charge for the full duration of the hire (19 days worth!) - I only need the one day!! |

From Miami area to Orlando is about 13 to 15 dollars. Sunpass just makes it easier is all so you dont have to stop into the toll booths to pay, just stay in the sunpass lane and keep driving and it bills your account. I live about 5 mins off of the Turnpike and the US 192 exit here in Kissimmee.

Yeah, what they said. Publix or some of the nicer larger rest stops carry them. Welcome to 'Murica!

Great thanks, managed to pick myself up a Sunpass Mini from Publix on South Beach. Drove up the coast road a bit then onto the I95, stopped off at West Palm Beach for a bit then onto the turnpike into Kissimmee. Very easy run although much more boring in a C250 Mercedes than my Z at home!
