The automatics have gotten to the point where they are as fast or faster then the manuals, no matter who is shifting... but I bought my car to drive and enjoy and I personally wanted to have the fun...

in the manual it tells you how to activate and...
in the manual it tells you how to activate and deactivate the auto door locks. Try deactivating them for a day and see if that helps then reactivate them the next day... just some food for thought...
