I've only had the Vette a couple weeks and 300 miles. Break-in limits 4K RPM and I follow the rules as I keep my cars for many years but with that said
; I am very impressed with the technology and various driver settings- 5 track settings alone that vary 12 different parameters. I do NOT mind driver aids as tracking is a weekend thing and I am not trying to get to be pro racer- just have some fun at speed. I have not gotten into the throttle but this is a quick car- with about 2x the torque of the 370Z and same or less # I do not think they will compare in acceleration. The adjustable magnetic shocks and quiet/loud exhaust feature is great- just out for a Sunday ride Touring mode is quiet and smooth but turn to Sport and shocks stiffen up and gets loud...it is nice to match your mood. I love the changeable monitors that display all your gauges- tons of options on what you want to see- oil temp, oil pressure, elsd temperature, tire temp & pressure. The color heads up display appears to be out in front of front bumper visually and you can display various items- simple speed only or tach only or combos including navigation etc. Also have the built in GoPro with performance data recorder with analytics- I do about 5 track events a season so I wanted this feature. Interior quality is great- seats have lot of adjustability including adjustable bolsters to get snug fit. I got the transparent carbon fiber roof which is pretty neat looking from the inside. I don't have that damn blind spot pulling out onto roads at an angle- I can see out the rear side window on the Vette- No matter what I always tried to square up the Z when entering a road so I could see what was coming. I got a lot of looks with the Z and positive comments at stop lights and parking lots all 6 years up until the very end- I think the C7 ups that response - people get real excited about the C7. Miss the Z- enjoyed 6 good years- it was fun to drive. The C7 is a bigger toy with a few more bells & whistle's |

Well I've got 600 miles on the Vette. Great car. A ton of technology- still learning. Extremely fast and the acceleration is crazy. Will take it to the track next spring.
I joined the Corvette forum yesterday, after 6 years on the 370z.com I guess I procrastinated. What I have noticed Chevy Customer Service is much more active in the forum. They followed up with me on a minor post I made to understand some more background. I think it is great the manf is trying to understand what's going on out on the streets with the vehicle. |

Think you'll love the C7 a lot more than the Z. It's a wonderful car and huge upgrade in pretty much every aspect. I waiting another year or so before making the switch to the C7. To buy time I recently went to a almost new 12 grand sport. Even though the C6 isn't anywhere near the C7 I'm still enjoying is more than my previous 2 370z's. The power on tap is just amazing. Several guys in my car club have a C7, including one 600+ supercharged one, and I love them. Driven both a regular and Z51 package version. The Z51 is the way to go. Anyway, good luck with your car and welcome to the Z --> Vette club, LOL.

Just have to say, love your Z31 in your pic. I'm a sucker for a Z31. Had my 84 since I was 17 (now 32)

Thanks. I love them they are a very underrated Nissan platform, imho. The motors are over built from the factory and they handle extremely well with chassis and suspension mods. Their a tank as well I beat the piss out of mine and it keeps on going. The turbo is shot on mine though right now.

I guess should've known, by the way you parked your car, siiideways that wouldn't last...believe it or not, I started to worry, wondered if I had enough class...but it was Saturday night I guess that makes it alright, and said what have I got to lose?
Little red Corvette...baby you're much too fast. |
