Thoughts on the Audi Q5
*This review is in another thread I made, but that had a separate story*
Today I went to Audi, looking for a Q5 for my brother (don't ask why, he just wants it and his gf really likes it, and he can sure as hell afford it) The Q5, it's an OK car, I guess... I drove the Prestige 3.0L Supercharged S-line with nav. Pros: Acceleration was ok, handling wasn't bad either, BUT driving it in Sport mode made it a completely different beast, MUCH better pedal feel, better handling as well. And unlike most other small SUVs, it didn't really have any blind spot per se. (Compared to the Lexus RX350, BMW X3, X6, Infiniti FX) Cons Brakes sucked, and the interior was ok, just weirdly designed... Like why do you need TWO SD card slots?!?!?! And why are the radio controls where the shifter is? And the Nav screen looked cheap and almost an afterthought And the S-line has "sportier seats" with "bolsters" LOL... But the problem is that the left seat áss bolster on EVERY car whether it was the Q5, Q7, TT-RS, and even the R8, had SEVERE wrinkles and wear even though the cars had 10~ miles. HUGE turn off for me. *Side note* I was also happy that everyone at the dealer KNEW that Audi doesn't make a reliable car, and 2 of the guys laughed when I said, there is no chance in hell I'd BUY a Nazi sled (As I left I found out the sales manager was Jewish, and THAT'S why he laughed his áss off) Last edited by DEpointfive0; 02-16-2013 at 07:27 PM. |

I think Audi has REALLY led the way with the design of cars in the past 5~ years I mean, hell, they made the LED front lights popular, and NO ONE can come to the sleekness of their integration of them. I just wouldn't BUY a German car... And I can't take credit for "Nazi Sled", "Bob Ryan" (old guy who says "What if I were to tell you...") from Entourage said it referring to Ari Gold's BMW |

RX is a much bigger vehicle than the Q5.

I drove a Q5 and a S4 at the dealership and liked them both. The S4 was better in every way except for interior space. The S4 was used with 25k miles and the seat bolsters looked pretty good.
Oh, and not to nitpick but the 3 liter in the Audis are supercharged, they have 'V6T' badges because apparently the T is a moniker for some sort of forced induction. |
