Reimbursement is not enough. Hyundai and Kia stole alot of customers from other companies by their mpg claims. They need to be fined, which they still haven't been.

the way i look at it is, you can go with whats on paper all day long and talk paper specs and believe a company's claims, or you can read about owners reviews, and ask questions about the car from owners and be a proactive consumer before purchasing a product you know you will be using everyday of the week

im sorry if you purchased a kia/hyundai just because of MPG ratings and i mean no offense when i say this but when someone is stupid enough to purchase some thing just based off a company's claims when they know very well that company's only motive is to increase profit margins and make money off consumers

honestly its kind of like buying an ebay electric supercharger and expecting to gain 100-200whp then being surprised that it didnt work and you just wasted money

now with that said, KIA and Hyundai make some nice cars and for the price, you cant beat the features they include

Manufacturers should just put 100mpg and 1000hp on the window sticker and just let people find out what the real numbers are through forums and talking to people.

I remember on the GC forums they were furious cuz the 2.0 GC, that was supposed to get 21/30mpg averaged 17/19mpg's. Way too much for a 4 banger. Nissan doesn't fall too far behind though... We had mpg issues on the 09/10model Z's and the 2011 Jukes were guzzlin'.

Isn't there supposed to be EPA regulations in determining MPG? It shouldn't simply be based on a manufacturer's claims.

If the regulators aren't doing their job, sounds like the rules need to be more stringent.

Yeah, and more realistic in testing

I drive 75-80 on the freeway, test MPG like that, also, in the city I don't chafe gears at 2500RPM, LOL

I think the Z should be rated at 15-16/26-27

I had a 2013 genesis coupe and i NEVER saw MPG over 22mpg with premium, regardless if i drove conservatively and i drove about 50/50 highway/city for the 6 months i had the car. I would stay around 18-20 at best with most conservative driving (it was an automatic) on the 3.8 V6. Then again i didn't buy the car for the MPG so i really didn't care haha.

In hyundais defense, the hyundai dealerships where i'm from are by far the best service/customer support people i have ever met in terms of a dealership. they treated me on time everytime, and with straight to the point here's your stuff answers. Anytime they didn't have loaners available during my service appointments they would let me pick a car off their lots. I'm sure the new gas compensation handouts are nothing but the same quality of service. I WISH my nissan dealer was that good
