Hyundai and Ark Performance tune Genesis Coupe R-Spec for SEMA

We haven't finished preparing for this week's Paris Motor Show, but it seems it's already time to start prepping for SEMA. We're getting to the point where it just wouldn't be a trip to Vegas without a pile of tuned Hyundai cars, and this year's bonanza begins with a Genesis Coupe R-Spec with a serious hotting-up courtesy of ARK.

Leaving no doubt that this is not a car for getting groceries, carbon fiber accessories like a front splitter with winglets, new hood, and rear overfenders under the decklid and wing have been draped outside. To make sure all of that aggression isn't wasted, the 3.8-liter V6 has been boosted to 395 horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque, with a performance intake leading to a Brian Crower 4.2 Stoker kit and other internals strengthened with the necessary upgrades.

The driver's office is a "custom interior" by JPM Coachworks, featuring a Sparco wheel and seats tucked into the roll cage. An LSD keeps things in order, six-piston brakes front and rear bring things to a stop and it'll sit low on the job over ARK coilovers. Now you have something to look forward to come November, which the press release below will tell you more about.

ARK PERFORMANCE TO UNVEIL HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE R-SPEC TRACK EDITION AT 2012 SEMA SHOW

Hyundai's High Performance R-Spec Platform Provides the Perfect Building Block for its Super Tuner Track Model

COSTA MESA, Calif., Sep. 24, 2012 – Hyundai is again teaming up with ARK Performance to create an ultra-high-performance track edition based on the Genesis Coupe R-Spec model. The ARK super-tuner track edition will debut with the Hyundai brand at the 2012 SEMA show. This special ARK model takes the new Genesis Coupe 3.8-liter, direct-injected engine to an impressive 395 horsepower at 6800 rpm, with axle-flexing torque of 340 lb.-ft. at 5400 rpm. From the exterior, the ARK design theme takes the muscular character lines of the Genesis Coupe to the extreme, with race-like flared over-fenders, an aggressive front splitter, and carbon-fiber hood with heat-extractor vents.

"The Genesis Coupe R-Spec is an ideal platform from which to build our SEMA track edition" said Ted Lee, owner of ARK performance, Inc. "The ARK Genesis Coupe R-Spec truly demonstrates the full track-tuning potential of the affordable Genesis Coupe R-Spec model. ARK continues to represent the ultimate in aftermarket performance tuning for Hyundai."

While the exterior is impressive, the ARK Genesis Coupe goes far beyond exterior cosmetics, with significant under-hood performance modifications, a race-like interior environment, racing differential, tires, brakes and suspension. The comprehensive list of ARK performance enhancements include:

Guess what, VVEL just got cracked.... The "stroker kit' and "395hp" compared to what is going to come with the Z in the next few months is comical. Sema hasnt started yet, you can still switch to a Z with a stroker kit, one off cams for NA, and a new VVEl cracked tuned. That will make mag front covers and make somthing of your company. First in sets the bar. Risk, but the pay off.....
